Keppel Corporation appoints Mr Tan Ek Kia and Mr Danny Teoh to the Board

Singapore, 30 September 2010 - Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tan Ek Kia and Mr Danny Teoh as Independent Directors on the Board with effect from 1 October 2010.

Mr Tan Ek Kia, 62, is an industry veteran in the oil, gas and petrochemicals sector, having spent over 33 years at oil major Royal Dutch Shell. His extensive experience at Shell included senior project management and leadership positions in various locations including Malaysia, Holland, China, Asia Pacific and Middle East. Mr Tan's last position at Shell before he retired in 2006 was Vice President, Ventures and Developments, Shell Chemicals, Asia Pacific and Middle East region.

Currently, Mr Tan sits on the boards of various companies in Singapore, including SMRT Corporation and CitySpring Infrastructure Management Pte Ltd. He is also Chairman of Citygas Pte Ltd and a Board Director of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel.

Mr Danny Teoh, 56, is currently Managing Partner of KPMG Singapore and a member of KPMG's International Board and Council. He will be stepping down from these roles on 1 October 2010 when he retires from KPMG. He has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of auditing and financial advisory in Singapore, Malaysia and UK. Mr Teoh joined KPMG's Singapore practice in 1984 and was admitted to the partnership in 1989. He was previously Head of Audit and Risk Advisory Services practices in Singapore as well as in Asia, and served on its global team.

Mr Teoh currently sits on the boards of Changi Airport Group and the Singapore Dance Theatre.

Dr Lee Boon Yang, Chairman, Keppel Corporation, said, "We are privileged to have Ek Kia and Danny join our Board. Both of them have many years of experience in their respective areas of expertise. Ek Kia's deep insights in the global energy sector will value add to our Group's strategic direction, while Danny's wealth of experience in finance and risk management will contribute to our overall financial governance of the Group. Together, they will support our drive for sustained, broad-based growth and to enhance shareholder value across the Group."

A Chartered Engineer with UK Engineering Council and Fellow with the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, Mr Tan was conferred Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang by the State Government of Sarawak, Malaysia, which carries the title Datuk, in 2001. He graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University in England.

Mr Teoh qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK and was recently appointed to the Pro-tem Committee of the Singapore Accountancy Council.

With these appointments, the Keppel Board has a total of 12 directors, of whom eight are independent directors.

Separately, Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd has appointed Mr Lim Chin Leong to its Board with effect from 13 September 2010.

Mr Lim, 55, retired in January this year as Chairman of Asia, Schlumberger, and is currently based in Beijing, China. Over a career of 30 years with Schlumberger, Mr Lim held senior management positions in a wide range of areas and locations spanning Asia Pacific, Middle East and the US.

Mr Choo Chiau Beng, Chief Executive Officer, Keppel Corporation and Chairman, Keppel Offshore & Marine, said, "I'm pleased to welcome Chin Leong to the Board, who brings to Keppel Offshore & Marine his many years of experience in the oil services industry. He is one of the few Singaporeans who has extensive knowledge about the upstream oil and gas sector. Together with his wealth of experience doing business around the world, Chin Leong will help to reinforce Keppel Offshore & Marine's key business strategy of ‘Near Market, Near Customer'."
